It often features a carved image of Manjushri (Bodhisattva of Wisdom) in the middle, with a hollow structure at the top.<\/p>\n<p>When shaken, the hammer-shaped clapper, suspended from the inner top of the bell body, produces a clear, melodious, and lingering sound. The bell body, resembling a traditional bell, is adorned with intricate patterns on its top and entire surface.<br \/>\nAs a ritual implement used in spiritual practice, it represents the Buddha\u2019s skillful means and great compassion. It also symbolizes awakening\u2014its sound rouses all sentient beings from the slumber of ignorance. Its handle may feature a carved Buddha head or a five-pronged vajra shape. The bell body has eight petals, inscribed with the heart mantra of great bodhisattvas and sacred texts. From a distance, it resembles a stupa symbolizing the Buddha\u2019s essence; up close, it mirrors the mandala of the principal deity. The Vajra Bell must be used in conjunction with the Vajra Scepter. Together, they embody the harmony of yin and yang, as well as the union of compassion and wisdom.
